You’ve finished the race and now it’s time to celebrate. Join the Champaign County Convention & Visitors Bureau at the 27th Mile Celebrate Victory Bash sponsored by State Farm right after the 2013 Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon.
Starting at 8 a.m., located just outside Memorial Stadium on Kirby Ave., the 27th Mile is the perfect place for you to kick back and relish in your accomplishment. New this year, local bar and grill, Fat City Bar and Grill will be offering each participant a complimentary beer with your race number as your ticket. Non-alcoholic beverages will be available as well for those under 21.
This year, local favorite 90's Daughter will be taking center stage from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. to entertain runners and their families after the race. They return after putting on an incredible show at the 27th Mile last year!
For the kids, check out the Action Inflatables set up to burn off energy of their own. Finally, memorialize your accomplishment with the News-Gazette Cut-Out for a fun way to see yourself on the “cover” of our local newspaper.
And for when you're hungry, be sure to check out the latest food truck to hit Champaign County, Cracked the Egg Came First, Burrito King and the Empanadas House. Known for their delicious egg sandwiches, Cracked will be serving up the nourishment you need post race all day! If eggs aren’t your thing, the Burrito King that will be serving tacos, burritos and salsa, all made on-site and fresh all day.
