For many, summers would be incomplete without Friday Night Live. The excitement builds all Friday afternoon to get out of work and into downtown Champaign for live music and plenty of friends. Likewise, the dual role of the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts as well as the Krannert Art Museum make the Champaign-Urbana area rich with perspective and unique experiences.

Japan House at the University of Illinois is also a crucial pillar of the University and local community, consistently bringing in experts and leading thinkers in East Asian culture and cuisine. The Cinema Gallery in Urbana is another favorite, showcasing artists from all over the country and world in a unique, historic space. These and so many more make the greater Champaign County area the cultural cornerstone it is today.
