This weekend spurs a lot of fun-filled family opportunities to hunt, dive, and take pictures with eggs and bunnies. No matter what time of the day this weekend, something is going on every day to make for an #OutsideofOrdinary adventure spent with loved ones.
If you’re reading this Friday morning, catch the earliest taste of bunny festivities with a screening of Peter Rabbit at Savoy 16. The classic tale of hijinks outside and in Mr. McGregor’s garden is a fun way to kickstart the weekend, a long one for some who are out of school! From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. both Friday and Saturday, shoppers of all sizes can find the Easter Bunny at Market Place Mall. Photo ops with this adorable bunny are a classic way to remember a festive day, so make it out and get some shopping done as well! Save some energy for Friday night, where Hessel Park and Lite Rock 97.5 will be hosting the 16th Annual Nite Lite Egg Pursuit. Make sure to be on time, eggs go fast as adults and children alike hunt for prizes. Bronze, Silver, and Gold eggs are particularly special, holding the contents of the most coveted prizes!
Wake up Saturday for the West Side Park Eggstravaganza. Bring a basket for the 11 a.m. egg hunt, but show up early for hayrack rides and a special guest for all the little egg hunters to enjoy! If children are itching for something that makes more of a splash, then Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center is the place to be! Their Egg Hunt with a Splash takes place in the pool. Bring a plastic bag and consult their age-specific start times for the perfect hunting hour! Saturday continues to bring more to do with Bunny at the Ballpark, taking place at Illinois Field as the Fighting Illini Baseball team takes on Northwestern. Fans can snap a pic with the Bunny, and participate in an on-the-field egg hunt after the game!
Sunday is a day spent with family and friends, and our friends at ChambanaMoms have a great guide to some hot brunch spots if cooking sounds to take the fun out of the day. We also love to see how you celebrate the holiday weekend. Make sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using the hashtag #OutsideofOrdinary to share with us your egg-cellent experiences in the greater Champaign County area.
