Krannert Center for the Performing Arts—More than just a world-class music venue, KCPA offers an impressive lineup of theatre that will knock your socks off. In just a few short weeks the Russian National Ballet Theatre will be gracing its stage for three performances which include: Carmen/Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, & The Sleeping Beauty!
The Virginia Theatre—Home to the annual Ebertfest, this historic theatre hosts a variety of shows. The intimate settings allow you to get up close and personal with local, regional and national acts. Past shows have included The Million Dollar Quartet, Last Comic Standing, Bill Maher, and much more.
Parkland College Theatre—Check out the enthralling student productions in their main auditorium or in the newer black-box theatre. Shows for 2017 include, Kazam! and Anything Goes. The theatre also host the Champaign-Urbana Theatre Company who entertain the community with a variety of shows and musicals throughout the year.
The Station Theatre—Heading into their 44thseason, this unique theatre in Urbana puts on electric productions ranging from surrealistic family comedy to love stories, developed by company members and newer talents. Their next round of performances will be Hand of God which explore the startlingly fragile nature of faith, morality, and the ties that bind us.
Homer Opera House—Originally built in 1902, this theater was at one time the tallest structure in Champaign County and has served as many purposes including a bowling alley! With a renovation ongoing, theatre is returning to this space from community members. Recent shows have included A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Alice in Wonderland and many more. Their January schedule hasn’t yet been released, but check back as it gets closer for the latest details on their upcoming performances.
