PYGMALION has transformed over its 17 year history to incorporate far more than was originally intended. Back in 2005, it was a collective of club shows held all around Champaign-Urbana with dozens of bands from all over the country. Over the course of its history, we’ve added, subtracted, moved, rearranged, and generally mixed and matched our program around to make sense for the present times of engaging our audience and community. That has made the event look different each and every year, even in 2020 when we produced a fully virtual event. We continue to be able to do what we do with the support of those who attend and those who help us fund the event, our amazing partners all over C-U.
In 2021, we are still sorting out what it even means to do live events. We’re proud to celebrate live music, readings, comedy, technology exhibitions, escape rooms, and more as safely and securely as we can. We hope that you check out our vaccination policy for the weekend and see what’s happening there. We hope that you can enjoy what we’ve put together in the ever-changing and always-challenging landscape.
