Avoid the traffic around Lodge Park by riding the train from downtown Monticello to watch the fireworks!

On Sunday July 3rd, you can ride on the museum’s historic train cars from the downtown Wabash Depot to Lodge Park to watch the Monticello fireworks. Candy bars and cold soft drinks can be purchased at our concession stand. We recommend bringing lawn chairs, blankets, and insect repellent. Space is limited and reservations are strongly recommended. This year, you can choose from two options to take the train to the fireworks.

Standard Fireworks Train:

The fireworks train in the museum’s historic coach cars departs at 8:00 p.m. from the Wabash Depot in downtown Monticello. Fares are $14 for adults and seniors and $10 for children age 2 - 12.

Dinner Train:

Ride in style on one of our two restored dining cars and enjoy a delicious dinner. The dinner train will leave one hour early at 6:00 p.m. and guests may choose to disembark early or enjoy a longer ride back to town to pick up the regular fireworks riders. This train will run rain or shine.
