Formed in October 2021 out of the DIY-scene in Urbana, IL, Kangaroo Court took to stages throughout the Midwest and quickly earned a reputation for their high-energy live performances and melodic blending of punk, garage, and psychedelic rock. Following an impressive string of shows in late 2021, including an opening slot for Chicago psych legends Post Animal, Kangaroo Court was named Champaign/Urbana’s Best New Band by publication Smile Politely. The group kept this momentum rolling into 2022, playing to a sold-out crowd at Cobra Lounge in Chicago, and additionally earning a slot on the Summer Camp Music Festival ‘22 lineup. Following the release of their highly anticipated debut single, Something’s Gotta Give, Kangaroo Court has continued to establish themselves as one of the most exciting acts in the Midwest.
