The Literary is thrilled to welcome Dora Watkins for a discussion on her new not-for-profit, The Healing Project.
The Healing Project cultivates R.A.R.E. (radical, authentic, rigorous, and environmentally safe) spaces for collective healing through the art of storytelling and other modes of visual and performance art — specifically centering the voices of Black women and other women of color with trauma histories.
We (re)imagine a world where Black women and other women of Color are liberated as recognized knowers contributing to knowledge projects that ensure a decolonial and intersectional lens for research methodology, policy, and practice implications, to close race-based gaps and address epistemic and psychosocial violence against Black women and other women of color.
